1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 pears
Preparation:
In a large sauce pot, heat sugar and water to boil. Slice pears with a mandolin to about 1/8” thickness. Drop 4-5 slices of pear into sugar syrup and simmer slices 2-3 minutes turning them over once. Pear slices should become translucent. Remove slices and place on parchment lined baking sheet. Place baking sheet in oven at 200°F to dry fruit slices for about 1 hour until slices are no longer sticky to the touch. Remove from pan while still warm and store in airtight
container. Eat as is or use as a garnish or decoration for many dishes or desserts.
